New advances have created new possibilities to transform the diagnosis, treatment, and management of lung cancer. And yet, progress in survival rates for lung cancer has been more limited compared with progress in other types of cancers.3,4,5,6,7 Presently, only 32% of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients and 9% of small cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients in the United States are alive five years after they are diagnosed.8 We must urgently take action to reverse its course.

As an Alliance, we aim to
Increase screening and early diagnosis:
by raising awareness of the strong evidence for screening and addressing the barriers to early detection, with continued improvements to the ease and reliability of diagnostics technologies and contributions to a deeper understanding of disease progression
Deliver innovative medicine:
by enabling widespread shifts toward earlier intervention, when outcomes are more favorable9, and by developing and delivering those interventions to the right patient at the right time.
Improve quality care:
by working with advocates and policymakers to deliver projects that address the challenges most urgent to patients, by improving coordination across the multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals and by instilling the urgency to act
